Hello

I was born in 1960 in Liverpool, England. Growing up in a city that was alive with the sound of The Mersey Beat, The Cavern and of course The Beatles was a true blessing. Having an uncle ten years older then me, Paul Gallagher, who played guitar in local bands, and who already had a considerable vinyl record collection, opened my eyes to the wonders of music. Throughout my teenage years all my friends loved the same style of music as me. So it was not long before we started to collect our own vinyl, buy music publications, and go to concerts.

 

My first concert was Black Sabbath in June 1978 at the Manchester Apollo, England. I was hooked.

Around that time I because a roadie for a local band, Twisted Ace, a twin guitar attack Rock band. They were very popular in the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal scene.

In 2013 I emigrated to America, and had access to a completely different music scene.

Many years later I worked for House Of Prog on a radio chat show, where we interviewed musicians and span their vinyl. In 2019 I started to write for Fireworks Rock And Metal Magazine, I am now a Staff Writer for them, and write album reviews and band interviews. I have even had one interview translated into Spanish, and then published in Rock magazine over in Spain. I have also written articles for Reel-2-Reel Studios in Jonesboro, GA, owned by Collective Soul's Will Turpin.

To improve my knowledge of music several years ago I learned to be a sound engineer on a Behringer X-32, and am often seen working behind the board in City Church, Griffin. GA bright and early on a Sunday morning.

I recently started work on the official biography of legendary Rock band Foghat. Boy do they ever have some incredible stories to tell....watch this space for further news on that front.
